Family History

Both my parents were born in Germany. My father was born and lived in the Northwest German town of Nordenham. My mother was born in Frankfurt an der Oder, in Eastern Germany, before moving to Luebeck, and eventually fleeing the war as a child and ending up as a refugee, in the Northwestern German town of Blexen. This is where my parents met.

After the war, they immigrated to Canada, and lived in various locations in Quebec. I was born in 1960, in Lachine, Quebec. As a family, we immigrated to the United States, and lived in Brooklyn and in Brentwood, New York. My sister, Susan, and brother Jeff, were born in New York.

The family then moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1974, where I still live.
